So Far, So Good!
Not certain why these places always want a review the day after the purchase but we plugged it in, tried it with black only text, then a color pic and it works great. it takes a minute to spool up but once printing only takes seconds. The expense of toner is offset by the number of pages we're able to get out of the toner cartridge and we don't have to waste a ream of p...

Rip Off
Bought this about 7 months ago. Waste of money. A great printer until you have to refill toner. You MUST use the VERY OVERPRICED Canon toner cartridges or it won't work. So if you are on a budget, this is definitely not the printer for you. I would go with a Brother. Mine was a complete waste of money.

Terrible
I have never seen anything so unnecessarily complicated. I have yet to be able to print on legal paper unless I hand feed one piece of paper at a time.

Utterly useless for anything but plain paper
If you just want to print documents on regular 20-24 pound paper, it's fine. If you want to print on heavy paper or on cardstock, the printer can't handle it. It will just jam and wind up spreading toner dust all over your office as you try to pull the paper out.

Limited Functionality & Wrong Instructions
Canon Image Class MF656Cdw color printer. So loud that you can't talk while it's printing. Instructions EVERYWHERE for adding a page to a scanned document say to use app MF Toolkit. Not only is that incorrect, that app doesn't appear to exist. Waited an hour to talk to Support after combing the web for an hour to find a solution only to be told that this model doesn't u...

Lots of Bugs
The functionality of this printer is very poor despite it being relatively low-cost for a laser printer. The drivers do not always work and need to be updated or computer restarted. Scanner would initially not work at all and even tech help had to install a third-party app to get the scanner to work. Even when it works it still glitches. I have had to remove and rei...

Not as Good Quality Print as the MF8650cdw
I would recommend Canons over Brothers or HPs for MF printers. Still HPs for laser B/W though!
Finally had to change out my 8650cdw which started printing with vertical shading across the page and couldn't clear it up after all the cleaning/maintenance! However, color on the 656cdw is not as vibrant and the letters/pics don't have same clarity that the old printer had. ...

Not as Good Print/Scan quality as previous MFPs!
I finally had to sadly retire my MFP8650 printer since it would print with gray horizontal shading on B/W and Color! However, the MF656cdw is inferior in print and scan quality from my old printer. I use scan feature a lot for scanning/emailing signed contracts so this printer isn't going to work for me.
In addition, they make installing all features so complicated when...

Good, but...definite limitations
Upgraded from a smaller TR8520. With that, I could have a network printer/scanner that also allowed connections via wifi. This "better" unit will only do either all wifi, or all network. It can't do both. And getting it connected was a definite chore and not for someone that isn't familiar with setting up things in Windows. Check the internet about the issues getting th...

color is horrible and keeps getting worse
Have had to have this replaced 2x already. Buy new and they give you a used one. Color doesn't look good and fades a lot. Definity would not recommend this product.

It was very simple to set up but be advised she has some weight to her. It is very efficient but does produce some noise during operation. So far so good since it is my first laser printer.

Nice all-in-one printer
Still new, so I don't know how long the toner will last or how easy it is to change. Setting up as a printer was very simple on both Windows and Mac. Setting up as a scanner was trickier because of driver problems under Windows.
For me, auto-duplex printing was a must; I already have a scanner, but the automatic document feed was a big attraction of the all-in-one, and...

Great Printer and Scanner
I've been using the scanner to digitize a large number of old paper documents, and the device is producing good quality scans, both starting when triggered from my PC or via the touchpad. The scanner auto-feed also works well, even on recently unstapled documents (but fanned out to separate the pages) and on imperfect top edges. Print quality is excellent, and even ph...

Great printer but...
Love the printer with two exceptions. (1) The website said the local store had two in stock. They didn't. The one they had, the box showed significant damage and I wouldn't accept it. Had to drive 20+ miles to the next closest store. (2) The scan function DOES NOT work via the Canon software running on Windows 11. Research shows it is a well documented issue and C...

Can’t print after 1 year
I spent $500 on this printer and it has a mind of its own now. Try to print one document and it will continuously print the first page over and over. I’ve tried everything from changing settings to unplugging and trying a reset. It’s just a $500 paper weight.
