If you're looking for a straight ruler - THIS IS NOT THE RULER FOR YOU
When standing the ruler on it's wooden side, it touches the desk at either end and that's it. You see daylight between the desk and ruler. So, not only is the wooden end not straight, the metal on the other side has bumps and valleys in it. I do not recommend this ruler.

Foot long rulers
It’s hard to find durable wood 12” rulers anymore with both inches and centimeters marking on them. Staples has them!
