Nice Product, but...
I bought this for the first time in May of 2015 and the price was $81.99 before tax and shipping. We put new carpet in another room with a desk and wanted to now put a chair mat in that room too. Not for thick carpets/rugs
The mat arrived in a timely manner. It snapped open and lies flat. So far (2 weeks) it has not dimpled. My only dislike is that it slides all over. The pins on the bottom are not long enough and the mat is easily moved by the office chair wheels. Having to realign the mat every day is irritating. If you have thick carpet or rugs I would not recommend this chair mat

Perfect for 1/2” carpeting
Chair rolls nicely. There is slight movement of the mat over the course of a full day but easily managed/repositioned.

Great floormat that will make you feel like you're on a hard floor... but
This is my second Floortex polycarbonate mat, and the last one served me well. It's not flexible like many vinyl mats, and allows your desk / computer chair to roll around freely without indentations or sagging when placed over carpet. It's so solid, that over carpet it feels as if my chair is rolling on a hard floor. That would have eared 5 stars, but...

It works on plush carpets
I had purchased a flexible one and it didn't work well on deep carpet. So I ordered the 1/2 inch one and it works just great. So far it has not moved around like the other one and my wheels were not settling into holes after sitting on it.

This chair mat worked perfectly over my carpet!
The pad I was using was so thin my desk chair just wouldn't roll the rollers just sank in. My carpet and the pad are about an inch thick. So I did some research to find one that would work better. Chair Mat for Deep-Pile Carpet.
After replacing several previous mats I finally realized that I wasn't buying the correct mat for my application. I have a deep carpet on top of a foam pad. The new mat designed for this app seems to work much better. It is harder so chair rollers do not sink in. The chair rolls much easier and I believe this one will last much longer.

great product for protecting carpet
This is the second chair mat I bought because the first worked so well on.my new thick.plush carpet. The mat is very smooth and stays in place. It is also discreet, the clear mat blends with my light carpet. My heavy desk chair rolls easily. I now have matching mats on each side of a partners desk and the room looks great, and the desk area us really functional.

not adequate for deep pile
The spikes on this floor mat do not go deep enough for a truly deep pile carpet. It is no better than satisfactory since every few days I have to reposition it on the carpet due to slippage. Also a larger size would be appreciated.

The mat is thick enough it doesn't give when placed on carpet. I do wish that I had ordered one with the tapered edges though.

Great for smaller spaces
A week in and all is good. The chair mat was shipped in a flat box and upon opening did not have a odor. The mat feels solid and has not slipped on the carpet (low pile with a thinker pad).

THIS IS NOT FOR MED TO HIGH PILE CARPETS AS IT STATES. WHEN YOU STAND ON IT THE EDGES POP UP TO CAUSE ME TO TRIP ON IT AS I STEP TOWARDS IT. IT WAS SHIPPED TO MY HOME BUT WILL LOAD IT UP IN THE CAR AND RETURN IT TO A STORE.

So far so good
Chair mats are expensive and the last several I have purchased have failed the chair test. This mat is more firm than the others and so far has held up well. Time will tell, but from what I can see, this may be a winner!
